WHAT TO EAT BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER CONSUMING PSYCHOACTIVE SUBSTANCES?

Nutrition is a fundamental part to reduce the risks and damages associated with the consumption of psychoactive substances, for that reason we want to offer you a short orientation on feeding before and after the consumption of drugs. Follow the guidelines, comment, let us know what your diet is and share it with your friends.

The use of psychoactive substances, including alcohol, is harmful in the short and long term with respiratory, neurological, liver, gastrointestinal, psychiatric, cardiovascular diseases, etc. It has been shown that the excessive consumption of alcohol increases the likelihood of liver cirrhosis, gastritis, diabetes, nutritional deficiencies and cognitive deterioration; in heroin apart from the sharing of needles as a means of transmitting HIV and hepatitis B and C, the risk of bronchitis and tuberculosis is increased; the consumption of cannabis induces the appearance of lung and throat infections, such as smoking without filter, bronchitis and lung cancer; cocaine causes loss of appetite, anxiety crisis and increased cases of bulimia and anorexia; Kidney damage is caused by the usual consumption of ketamine. Crack decreases appetite and increases malnutrition. The continuous use and risky and abusive practices of psychoactive substances generates cardiac arrhythmias, anorexia, depression, heart attacks and hypertension, among the most important diseases.
Overdoses and deaths caused by the deterioration of coordination, concentration and reflexes are called short-term effects, as evidenced by driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, intoxications: if it is due to LSD there is an episode of panic, distrust and hallucinations. With cannabis a large percentage of consumers show an increase in appetite after consumption, however the nutritional quality of food is low; Ecstasy and MDMA occur according to the environment where hyperthermia or hypothermia are consumed, the habitual consumption of ketamine alters memory, concentration and impairs the skills of the consumer.
Polydrug use is a recurring practice and many times consumers do not evaluate that this increases the risk and the negative consequences. Whatever the substance that is consumed simultaneously with another (s) is increased toxicity, anxiety, heart rate; it can produce deep states of sedation, loss of consciousness, dehydration and a violent increase in body temperature, facilitating a delicate organic reaction called "heat stroke" that can induce death; It is advisable to consume alcohol or psychoactive drugs separately, avoiding adverse reactions due to our current and future health status.
Marijuana
In most cases of marijuana users the appetite is increased, but at the same time what is consumed does not have the necessary nutrients if the appetite is satisfied with "junk food", causing nutritional deficiencies, being the zinc deficit and the tachycardias To avoid these symptoms we must consume more oats, liver, pumpkin seeds, spinach, lettuce, fish, eggs and dairy products; These foods improve our immune system. Sometimes you can feel weak and scared, with low tension, nausea or discomfort and cold sweat, to get out of this sit in a quiet place, do not smoke anymore and take something sweet (chocolate, sandwich, caramel ...). Either before, during or after the "joint" if there is appetite you should eat (there are no restricted foods).
LSD
During the trip you feel anxiety and confusion (they are transient), some consumers have feelings of euphoria. If it is mixed with other substances or a too high dose is consumed, there is an episode of panic with agitation, paranoia, hallucinations and tremors; before eating, you should eat a light meal (not fried or sweet). No matter how traveled you are calm, looking for a place to relax. In the long term arrhythmias can occur, to avoid its appearance it is favorable to consume juices, vegetables (especially celery), nuts, cereals and legumes (lentils, chickpeas, soy); avoid alcoholic beverages, coffee, tea and energizers. HYDRATE during and after the trip.
Cocaine
Consumers tend to lose weight, become dehydrated and may experience nosebleeds from excessive inhalation. A chronic effect is the destruction of the nasal septum, by the necrosis that produces the vasoconstrictive effects (decrease in the volume of the blood vessels) and the acute renal failure caused by the deterioration of the correct functioning of the kidneys.
